We are seeking a hard-working, detail-oriented, multi-tasking, diligent, and motivated employee to work in our Denver Tech Center office. The ideal candidate will have recent oil and gas exploration and production revenue accounting experience, solid analytical skills, and a professional attitude. This position provides room for growth for an individual who learns quickly and can take on increasing levels of responsibility.

General Responsibilities

  • Process oil and gas revenues, accruals, and account reconciliations.
  • Process royalty owner monthly distributions.
  • Prepare and file tax and royalty reports as required by various state and federal agencies.
    • Assist with adjusting prior fillings as necessary.
  • Coordinate with clients’ land departments to set up and maintain revenue division orders.

 Requirements

  • Accounting/business-related college degree
  • Two to five years of recent oil and gas E & P industry revenue accounting experience
  • Proficient in working with databases and Excel
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment and with multiple clients

General Accountant

Background

Crescent Point Energy U.S. Corp., a subsidiary of Crescent Point Energy Corp., is a conventional oil and natural gas company with assets strategically focused in properties comprised of high-quality, long-life, operated light oil and natural gas reserves in the United States. Crescent Point strives to create sustainable, value added growth in reserves, production, and cash flow through the execution of management’s integrated strategy of acquiring, exploiting and developing reserves in Canada and the United States.

Purpose

The General Accountant is responsible for the coding of Capital, Operating Expense and G&A costs to the appropriate accounts.  Additionally, this position will support the U.S. corporate office and perform full cycle accounts payable functions.

Location: Denver, Colorado
Reporting to: Supervisor, Accounts Payable & Joint Venture

Main Responsibilities & Activities

  • Code, according to company guidelines, capital costs, operating expenses and G&A invoices to the appropriate general ledger account
  • Monitor the workflow of accounts payable invoices and assist with other general accounting functions where necessary
  • Provide support to operational departments on the proper coding of invoices
  • Process manual check requests and employee expense reports
  • Assist with maintaining quality relationships with vendors and field staff
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities 

  • Basic knowledge of oil & gas accounting processes with 3-5 years of experience in accounts payable  preferred
  • E&P accounting experience is preferred
  • Must have strong Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel
  • Skills in Open Invoice would be considered an asset
  • Ability to work in a growth focused, fast-paced work environment
  • Exceptional communication skills are necessary
  • Must be self-motivated and detail oriented
  • Team player who enjoys learning and contributing to team goals
