Tanya Harris has over 20 years accounting experience with the last 18 years being in the oil and gas industry. She has spent her oil and gas career working on the operations side of accounting and has held various roles within operational accounting and joint venture audit.
After graduating from Metropolitan State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting, she started her oil and gas career with a small privately-owned E&P company, with operations in Oklahoma. Moving up from there she continued to craft her skills as an operational accountant with the mid-size public company, Delta Petroleum that had operations in the Piceance, Green River, and Haynesville basins. The downturn in gas prices gave her the opportunity to work for Noble Energy. There Tanya became the Joint Venture Audit manager, responsible for all the JV audits both domestic and international. Since her time at Noble she has gone on to design and execute successful joint venture audit programs. Today she is an accounting manager at Vitesse Oil where she is responsible for all the operational accounting of the company’s various satellite entities. She has also developed and now manages the company’s JV audit program.
Tanya is an active member of COPAS since 2008 and is currently the vice chairman of the National Audit Committee. She was a writing contributor to the rewrite of AG-19 and helped edit the new RTC MFI-XX.
Outside of work, she enjoys traveling with her family, coaching girl’s lacrosse and writing.
